Not all cases are clinical negligence cases

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Guy Richards was an American student in Surrey with a passion for sport.  But one night, a reckless dive into a shallow pool broke his neck.  He was paralysed from the chest down and faced a life with no sensation at all in his lower limbs. Fortunately an experimental treatment appears to have made a difference. Whilst his medical team have been impressed it could have been much worse. It was of course his fault and not clinical negligence that led to his problem. Although his story is tragic, other stories show how spinal injury can easily occur.  Had it happened elsewhere and not in Surrey, solicitors may have been able to offer clinical negligence support but depending on his spinal injury we cannot be sure. If you have any questions on clinical negligence you should also ask accredited solicitors.
